Mother's Day fun

Mother's Day 2009 started out with flowers from Patrick and a card from Lauren and Dadda. For breakfast we had pastries and berries, which Patrick bought so I didn't have to cook.

Later on in the afternoon Lauren and I played outside with the gardening kit she got for her birthday from Uncle Charles and Aunt Chrissy. In fact, they gave her the hat and shoes too.

She was in charge of smashing all of the lumps out of the dirt and filling the pots (with minimal supervision). I then helped her put the seeds in and covered them with the remaining dirt.

After planting, Lauren wanted to "ca your" so I gave her some crayons and computer paper and she drew me a pretty picture.

The seeds we planted were "guaranteed to grow" and the germination was supposed to take 30-45 days. However, three days later we had green sprouts! The below pictures were taken last week, you should see them now!

Here's Lauren checking out her "pants," which we have to do everyday when we get home from daycare.

The funny part is, I really don't remember what we planted. I know one pot is white daisies and I think one of the other's is wild daisies, but I have no idea what the other plant is and I think it's the one that's really taking off. Hopefully once we have flowers we can see what we've got.

Out of the closet

Since I'm out of the pregnancy closet now I can finally post the fruit pictures I found on the web awhile back. In the past three months our baby has grown from a poppyseed, to an appleseed, to pea, to a blueberry, raspberry, green olive, prune, lime, plum and now...

And in case you haven't seen the new kid on the block, here is the ultrasound I had a couple of weeks ago...

And just 'cause she's cute, the big sister rockin' her new do...
