Yesterday I took the kids to the Virginia Discovery Museum, a hands-on children's museum here in Charlottesville. It's not so much a museum as it is a place for kid's to play. They do have one rotating exhibit and right now it's about Tibet -- yeah, Lauren and Nicholas could care less about learning about Tibet. However, they did have a good time with the interactive toys and it was a great after-lunch activity for them to burn off energy before nap time.

This thing was pretty cool. It's called Amazing Airways. It was a bunch of connected pipes with a fan blowing through them. Kids put soft balls and scarves in the side and watch how they air blows them through the pipes and back out again. Lauren loved it.

We spent a long time in the pioneer cabin. Lauren loves to pretend to make food and Nicholas loves to pretend to eat food so they're a good pair.

The museum is located on what's called "the downtown mall" which is an outdoor shopping area in the middle of downtown Charlottesville. It's closed to cars so you can walk up and down and window shop. After we left the museum we walked down and had gelato before heading home for naps. Overall a pretty fun day.
