The week after the JAG fire we went to Birmingham so Patrick could run in the Mercedes Marathon. He placed 184th out of thousands so I guess he did pretty good. He is also boasting that he was 22nd in his age-group, not too shabby for his first marathon.
Vegas was fun, neither of us had ever been so we went to celebrate my 30th birthday. We stayed at the Wynn which was REALLY nice! However, if you're not much of a gambler five days in Vegas is a little too long. We had fun, but I think I'd rather hit the beach.
If you're gambling in the airport, you may have a problem...
Our hotel
Patrick enjoying some of the amenities in our room...
Our awesome view. The guy at check-in upgraded our room when Patrick whipped out his military I.D. card...job perk!
Chatting with thin Oprah at the wax museum.
Patrick and the late, great 2-Pac.
We arrived back in Birmingham Feb. 20th and celebrated Lauren's birthday the next day with a big family party. It was "Cinda Yella" themed and I think everyone had fun.
It was back to work the following Monday and our lives were pretty uneventful for a couple of days then we packed up again and headed to Fort Walton to visit Patrick's mom, who wasn't doing well in Fort Walton. Fortunately Mary is doing a lot better and back at home now.
We got back in town just in time to enjoy the snow. Lauren liked watching it from the window, but she soon realized that while snow was pretty, it was also cold so she chose to seek shelter in the garage while Patrick and I played outside.
Bundling up with Dadda to watch the snow.
"It's knowing Mamma!"
Let's do this...
Seeking shelter because it's cold and wet.
Him natural environment...the suburban backyard.
Patrick made himself a drinking buddy.
Although the snow occurred at the beginning of March that pretty much catches everyone up-to-date on the happenings of the Gordon family. Since then we've been pretty much working during the week and doing random yard stuff on the weekends. This past weekend I took Lauren to the park and she really enjoyed it so we may start doing that more often. I'll post those pics tomorrow night.
